Former Beenham man charged over 1966 murder




Thames Valley Police has confirmed that David Burgess, aged 64, has been charged with the murder of Yolande Waddington

A MAN has been charged over the murder of 17-year-old Yolande Waddington in Beenham in October 1966.

Thames Valley Police has confirmed that former Beenham resident, 64-year-old David Burgess, has been charged with the murder of Miss Waddington, having been arrested by the Force Major Crime Review Team yesterday (Tuesday).

Miss Waddington's body was found in a ditch at Hall Place Farm, Beenham, on October 30, 1966.

Home Office Pathologist, Prof Keith Simpson, said her death had been caused by strangulation around the neck.

Mr Burgess has been remanded in custody and he is due to appear at West Berkshire Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (November 22).
