Former inn with 112 acres of land in Inkpen dating back to 19th century up for sale
Housebuyers have an opportunity to buy a piece of history as a former pub has come to the market.
Savills is marketing the Old Craven Arms pub in Inkpen.
The inn dates to the 19th century, with records of pints being pulled from 1850 onwards. A list of publicans goes up to 1931.
Now, it is a six-bed Grade II listed home, with 112 acres of land and outbuildings.
The fields are permanent pasture for hay making and have also been used for livestock grazing.
The outbuildings would have been used for the livestock, and Savills says these have potential for being repurposed, subject to planning approval.
These buildings have a separate entrance from the road, and the area includes a stream, woodland and paddocks.
It has a guide price of £3,550,000, although it could be split into four lots, and is being marketed through Savills’ Newbury branch.
Tom Eyston, of Savills southern rural agency team, said: “This charming former Georgian inn is now an attractive family home in a brilliant location in the rolling countryside of West Berkshire, with good road links.
“The livestock buildings provide an incoming buyer with excellent potential for a variety of uses, subject to planning.”
