Aldermaston Tea Rooms founders moving on to new venture in September
A popular village tea room faces an uncertain future after its founders announced they will step away from the business in September.
Aldermaston Tea Rooms, which has a 4.0 rating on Tripadvisor and is located next to the River Kennet, has been run by Sam and Gary Huntley for nearly a decade.
The duo have decided to move on to a new venture later this year due to the uncertainty they experienced with the business last year.
In a Facebook post announcing the news, the pair said: “Well it's been nine fantastic years since we took over a rundown tea rooms and we are proud that along with your help, we have transformed it into the popular, vibrant place it is today.
“We have had such a blast meeting some of the most wonderful customers possible.
“We couldn't have done all this without you though and with two months of the summer remaining we would love to see each and every one of you. So please pop in.”
The popular eating spot has become known for its full English breakfasts, fisherman’s lunches and whippy machine ice creams.
More than 50 satisfied customers showed their support and gratitude in comments under the Facebook post.
Will Haighton commented: “You’ve done a fantastic job there turning it into the place it is today; you’ll definitely be missed!”
Jo Hutchinson commented: “Good luck in your new venture. So hope everything works out for you. It certainly will not be the same without you.”
