UPDATE: Two more arrests made on suspicion of terror offences in connection with RAF Brize Norton break-in




UPDATE: Two more arrests have been made in connection with the break-in at RAF Brize Norton last Friday (June 20).

Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) arrested further two men from London, aged 22 and 24, on Saturday (June 28) on suspicion of commissioning, preparing or instigating acts of terrorism, contrary to Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Two Voyager aircraft were damaged during the break-in at the Oxfordshire airbase led by campaign group Palestine Action, soon to be proscribed as a terror group in the UK, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has confirmed.

Counter terrorism police also made four arrests in Newbury and London on Thursday (June 26).

A 29-year-old woman and two men, aged 36 and 24, were arrested on the same charges as the two men.

A 41-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police have said their enquiries are ongoing.

Newburytoday is still waiting for CTPSE to confirm whether any of the suspects are being detained at Newbury Police Station, where pro-Palestinian activists gathered outside on Saturday.
