Four charged after crash near Newbury
Four charged with numerous offences - including theft and aggravated vehicle taking - after crash on Tuesday (10)
POLICE have charged four men in connection with a crash in Lambourn Road, Weston, involving a stolen car on Tuesday night (January 10).
Officers were called to the area at 10.59pm after a red Ford Escort collided with a telegraph pole and caught fire.
The car had been reported stolen from the Cardiff area.
Four men were arrested and charged in connection with the collision and with the theft of a laptop and four memory sticks from a car parked outside a property in the same road on the same night, as well as a bilking offence in Cardiff earlier in the day.
An 18-year old man and a 26-year old man from Cardiff were charged with aggravated vehicle taking, theft from a motor vehicle, making off without payment and criminal damage.
An 18-year-old of no fixed abode, and a 17-year old from Cardiff were charged with aggravated vehicle taking (being carried), theft from a motor vehicle, making off without payment, criminal damage and breach of an antisocial behaviour disorder.
All four were remanded in custody to appear before Reading Magistrates' Court today (Thursday).
