Four charged in connection with terror offences following £7m damage to two aircraft at RAF Brize Norton
Four people arrested in Newbury and London have been charged in connection with causing £7m of damage to two aircraft at RAF Brize Norton.
Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) charged four people yesterday (Wednesday) with conspiracy to enter a prohibited place knowingly for a purpose prejudicial to the safety or interests of the United Kingdom and with conspiracy to commit criminal damage, following authorisation from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
CTPSE said both offences are contrary to Section 1 (1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977.
Those being charged are Amy Gardiner-Gibson, 29, of no fixed abode; Jony Cink, 24, of no fixed abode; Daniel Jeronymides-Norie, 35, of Friern Barnet Lane, London; and Lewie Chiaramello, 22, of Olive Road, London.
All four were remanded in custody and are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday).
The CPS will be submitting to the court that these offences have a terrorist connection.
The charges are in connection with a break-in at RAF Brize Norton during the early hours of Friday, June 20.
A 41-year-old woman arrested on Thursday, June 26, on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail until September 19.
A 23-year-old man arrested on Saturday, June 28, has been released without charge.
