Schools which closed yesterday (Monday) due to burst pipes and broken heating have re-opened today

FOUR West Berkshire Schools that were affected by cold weather yesterday (Monday) are today open again.

The four schools affected yesterday were Park House School, Andover Road, Newbury; St Bartholomew's School, Andover Road, Newbury; Mrs Bland's Infant and Nursery School, Jordan's Lane, Burghfield Common and Downsway Primary in Warbreck Drive, Tilehurst.

Park House School's boiler failed overnight on Sunday, forcing classes to be cancelled for year seven and eight pupils yesterday.

At St Bart's, a burst water pipe forced the school to close at 12.30pm yesterday.

Mrs Bland's was shut from midday on Friday, also due to a burst pipe, but the school also re-opened today.

Downsway Primary had to close yesterday because the heating broke down.
