Fraudster 'could be hiding in West Berkshire hotels'




A WANTED man who has been linked to frauds totalling more than £1m, assault, witness intimidation and car theft could be hiding out in a West Berkshire hotel, police say.


Ian Charles Standing, aged 46, failed to answer his bail in relation to allegations that he fraudulently obtained £420,000 from a vulnerable victim and stole a car worth £20,000.
He is also wanted in connection with numerous other offences.
Standing, is white, 6ft 3ins, with a stocky build and short brown hair.
Police say he usually wears thick rimmed glasses and has a facial tick and pronounced stammer.
Hotels in the region have been put on red alert to report any sighting of the man.
Dc Rosemary Vosser, of Reading CID, said: “Someone in this country must know where this man is.
“He owes a lot of people a large amount of money and needs to be stopped. Any information people have, no matter how small, may assist the investigation.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have given this man money.”
