Newbury fraudster Timothy Collins fails to show

A JUDGE has issued a warrant for the immediate arrest of a fraudster.

Timothy Collins failed to turn up as directed to Reading Crown Court on Friday, November 8.

The 60-year-old, formerly of North End, Newbury, and currently said to be of no fixed address, has pleaded guilty to impersonating another in order to fraudulently transfer cash from their bank account in Windsor, Berkshire, between August 31, 2017, and June 23, 2020.

At a hearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court in June, North, who was legally represented by Rob Slinn, was told the case was so serious it could only be dealt with by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury sitting at Reading Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

District judge Samuel Goozee meanwhile released him on bail with conditions.

North was due to appear for sentencing on Friday.

His barrister was present - but not North.

Judge Nicholas Ainley issued a warrant for his arrest, without bail.
