Free Fun on the Broadway

Children in Thatcham were able to round off the summer holidays with face-painting, games and circus skills

CHILDREN in Thatcham were able to make the most of the last days of summer with a fun-filled day of free activities.

Fun on the Broadway was held on Broadway Green by Thatcham Town Council last Friday and included face-painting, a bouncy castle, giant board games and a circus skills workshop at which children learnt to juggle, plate spin and blow giant bubbles.

Thatcham's weekly market was running as normal and many of the town's businesses got involved with special promotions and activities in their shops.

The town council mascot, Cyril the Squirrel, was there, along with Thatcham mayor Lee Dillon, who tried out unicycling.

He said: “It is great to see so many people enjoying the activities here today.

“There has been strong support from local businesses and I hope this event encourages more people to shop in Thatcham once they have seen what the town has to offer.”
