Danish lifestyle store Søstrene Grene opens its doors to Newbury shoppers this morning (Friday)

A new shop will be opening up in Newbury this morning and the first 100 shoppers to enter the store will receive a free rug.

The Danish lifestyle store Søstrene Grene will open its doors today (Friday) morning at 9.59am in Parkway Shopping centre.

The mayor will be attending the grand opening, Hotel Chocolat will be giving out free hot chocolate at the event and there will also be live classical music playing and goodie bags to give out.

The Newbury store will be the first Søstrene Grene outlet in the south of England, and it is one of 260 stores worldwide in 15 different countries.

Søstrene Grene is situated in the former Topshop unit and its introduction to the town now means that all of the units in Middle Street are occupied.

The shop will sell a wide range of products from home interiors, toiletries, furniture, stationery, toys and candles.

Its website also offers lifestyle hints and tips including knitting and crocheting patterns, as well as inspiration for decorating and gardening.
