The company ran more than 30 vehicles, from one ton vans to 44 ton lorries, out of its headquarters on the Colthrop industrial estate.
Drivers were reportedly told not to turn up for work on Tuesday.
Yesterday (Wednesday) a woman who answered the phone said only: “Reading Freight Services ceased trading on June 25. It’s kaput. That’s all.”
The closure marks the end of 25 years’ trading in West Berkshire for the company, which offered a comprehensive range of services for the distribution of palletised freight throughout the UK and beyond.
The premises also include 45,000 sq ft of warehousing.
