Friends of Thatcham Library seeks volunteers

A group supporting the library in Thatcham is calling for more volunteers.

The Friends of Thatcham Library group are calling on new recruits to aid the library on Bath Road with events and other tasks.

Senior customer service assistant Louise Bowman said that the library hosts coffee mornings every few months to raise awareness and to raise funds for anything it might need.

She said: “We are in the process of purchasing a new display cabinet with the funds we have raised so far.

“We are also wanting to tidy up the garden at the back of the library and make it accessible for library users.

“We have about four meetings a year so it is not a great deal of commitment as volunteers can choose what to attend.”
