Fugitive llama captured
Wild llama chase through Downlands ends well as Yasmin returns home
WHETHER she was fed up of the cold, hungry, or merely at the end of her adventure, Yasmin the llama has been found safe and well.
Having escaped as she was being delivered to her new owner, Ann Goldsmith, on Friday (January 27) afternoon, the elusive animal evaded capture over the weekend despite being chased throughout the area, and was eventually tracked down this afternoon (Tuesday).
After publishing the plight on Newburytoday.co.uk Ms Goldsmith said she had been told the llama had been heard at a farm east of the A34 between Beedon and Compton East Ilsley, and had been seen heading north, back towards the Ridgeway.
"Many, many thanks to everyone who helped get out the word and in the search for Yasmin," she said.
"And particulary to Chris Coneybeer and his cameraman and Mike and Geff from the Institute for Animal Health in Compton who helped in the final catching."
