Full road closure on Fir Tree Lane for next 6 to 10 days

There will be a full road closure on Fir Tree Lane, in Newbury, which could last up to 10 days.

According to the West Berkshire Council highways team, the closure of the road is due to sewage that is backing up into the homes of residents.

It is believed that the blockage has been caused by an intersecting gas main.

The road will be closed for 14 weeks (6321762)

In order to provide a temporary fix, the road will need to be closed fully.

West Berkshire Council's highways team said Thames Water and gas company, SGN, are to conduct site meetings to provide a permanent and collaborative solution.

These additional site meetings are believed to extend the closure further.
