And Saturday 18, Chaddleworth Fete Weekend, dog show, Morris dancers, brass band, Punch & Judy, plants, cakes, refreshments. Friday night open mic night from 7.30pm. Saturday fete, noon-4pm, daytime bar, silent disco for children in day and adults in evening.
Saturday 18
Yoga Day, near bandstand, Victoria Park, Newbury, 9am-10am. Free event for everyone to join and do Yoga. Bring your own water bottle, mat etc. Email newburyshakha@gmail.com
Speen Fete, recreation ground, 12.30pm-4.30pm. Supported by Newbury Lions. Charity stalls including St Mary’s Church, Speen Community Cafe and Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice. Refreshments, classic cars, raffle and an English Civil War Society encampment.
Falkland Primary School summer fete, 1pm-3.30pm. Refreshments, tombolas, raffle, silent auction, children’s glam tent, trade stands and Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue fire engine.
Newbury Chamber Choir, St Mary’s Church, Shaw, Newbury, 7.30pm. Birds and Flowers in song and music. Songs by Vaughan Williams and others. Musical director Ben de Souza will be playing some accordion pieces and giving an insight into the instrument. Tickets £15, under 18s free, on the door or online at www.newburychamberchoir.org
Jumble Sale, Padworth Village Hall, 2pm. Fundraiser for Padworth Village Hall.
Blewbury Brass Band, Victoria Park bandstand, 3pm-5pm.
Sunday 19

Newtown Road Cemetery mid Summer welcome evening, 6pm-9pm. Introductory tours 6.30pm and 7.45pm. Wild flower and moth displays, find-a-grave service, book stall. Refreshments. Free admission. Email committee@fnrcnewbury.org.uk
