Fun for all in West Berkshire today (Sat)
THERE is plenty for all the family to do in West Berkshire today (Saturday).
The Mayor of Newbury will visit the West Berkshire Young Photographer Exhibit – co-sponsored by the Newbury Weekly News - at Newbury Library.
West Berkshire residents are being invited to head over to Newbury Town Hall to have their say on ‘significant’ changes to Newbury’s Victoria Park.
The town council is planning to demolish the old kiosk and boat store to make way for a new building which will include a new café, changing rooms, baby changing facilities, boat store and a park warden’s office.
The new building will be located in the same area as the existing kiosk building and will also include new public toilets.
A public consultation is being held at the civic entrance of Newbury Town Hall for people to view the concept drawings and air their views on the materials and initial design.
It will be held from 10am to 3pm.
In Sport, Hungerford Town FC, who currently boast the best form of any team in Europe, will be looking to continue their remarkable run as they face Weymouth at home.
If you’re looking to keep the kids entertained, Billy Danter’s funfair will be at Victoria Park from 11am to 7pm.
There will also be a charity tennis tournament at Park House School from 9.30am until 1.30pm, where entrants can have some doubles fun to raise money for disability charity Enham Trust.
Refreshments are available and there will also be an Easter Egg raffle. There is a £10 entry fee, but it is free to watch.
Head down to St Nicholas Church for the Christian Aid spring fair from 10am until 1pm.
There will be quality goods, books, toys and jewellery on show, as well as home produce, a tempting selection of cakes and a tombola.
