Boxford Church tower roof fundraiser gaining pace, but needs community support to hit target

A community fundraiser to restore a crumbling church tower is close to hitting its target.

In February, the historic St Andrew's Church in Boxford had raised £63,000 towards repairing its tower.

The amount raised has now reached an incredible £103,000.

But the project still has some way to go to achieve its ultimate target of £150,000.

“We’d like to thank those who have already been very generous in their giving,” said Joy Appleton, of the Boxford History Project.

“The community has got behind well with children from the church raising £203 selling cakes they baked themselves.”

But the fundraiser needs further community generosity to help the project over the finish line.
