Funds raised at winter wonderland walk
The children and their families soaked up the atmosphere on the half-mile walk that took them through Jubilee’s farmland to their private woodland.
Trees were twinkling with fairylights, children’s artwork decorated the woodland, and down a winding pathway adorned with fairylights, there was a cabin with Father Christmas inside.
The 300 children were then each treated to a gift to take home.
Nursery manager Lesley Thompson said: “This is our third annual Winter Wonder-land Walk and each year it gets bigger and better.
“During the year, the children love their regular visits to the woods and so turning it in to a magical kingdom for Christmas is the perfect surprise for them.”
Nursery staff sported a variety of jumpers that delighted children, in support of Save The Children’s national Christmas Jumper campaign. The event also supported Cancer Research UK and a total of £500 was raised for the two.
Other entertainment included the nursery staff carol singing, a nativity stable with a crib where the children could act the nativity story, festive crafts and an abundance of singing and dancing Christmas toys.
