Further downpours forecast over weekend after 40mm of rain last night (Thurs)
River levels in some parts of the district are again beginning to rise, following decreases over the past week, and are set to continue increasing with more rainfall forecast over the weekend.
According to the Met Office, rain is expected for most of the afternoon today (Fri) while heavy downpours are forecast from midnight to 9am tomorrow (Sat), and again from 3pm to 9pm.
Sunday and Monday are expected to be much drier.
A red flood warning is still in place for the River Thames at Purley and Pangbourne.
Amber alerts are also still imposed onto the River Kennet from Thatcham to Reading and from Berwick Bassett to Newbury and also the River Pang and River Lambourn.

Amber groundwater flood alerts were also this week issued for the Lambourn Valley, including in Great Shefford, and the Upper Aldbourne Valley.
This morning, the River Kennet at Newbury was at 1.30metres, a rise of 4mm since Wednesday morning.
At Theale, the River Kennet has increased from 1.16m on Tuesday morning to 1.33m today.
However, the River Thames downstream at Goring Lock has decreased to 4.56m today, compared to 4.65m on Wednesday.
