England fans go through the emotions at Newbury Racecourse for Euro 2020 final against Italy.
There was a mixture of emotions on Sunday evening as England suffered penalty shootout heartbreak against Italy in the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley.
Fans up and down the country packed into pubs to watch the final, while hundreds of people watched the game on a big screen at Newbury Racecourse.
It all started so well for Gareth Southgate’s side after Luke Shaw volleyed the Three Lions into the lead after two minutes.
However, Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci equalised for his side and it proved to be the final goal of the game.
A penalty shootout after was required after neither team could find a winner in extra-time.
Unfortunately Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka all failed to beat Gianluigi Donnarumma from 12-yards as the Azzurri won 3-2 on penalties.
Despite the defeat, the whole nation should be so proud at what Southgate and the England players achieved this summer.
During the game, our photographer Phil Cannings was at the racecourse taking some snaps of the England supporters cheering on their team.
