General election line-up confirmed
Your chance to learn more about who wants your votes in this week's NWN
After months of speculation and with just three weeks left until the General Election, we can reveal the final line-up of candidates who will be vying for your vote for the Newbury constituency.
Sitting Conservative Richard Benyon is aiming for his second successful defence of the seat he has held since his 3,460 majority in 2005 which ended more than a decade of Liberal Democrat control.
Judith Bunting will be seeking to bring the area back into the fold of the Liberal Democrats, fighting off the rising challenge of UKIP and The Green Party.
Labour have also cast in their lot against newcomers The Patriotic Socialist Party, and the Apoliticals and Independent Barrie Singleton.
All the main parties have now also launched their manifestos, with the Tories offering rail fare freezes, the Lib Dems loans for renting and Labour a cap on tuition fees.
If you haven’t already registered to vote then you’ll have to be quick – you only have until midnight on Monday, April 20 to sign up.
