Get a pit stop for your bike in Newbury

Trained West Berkshire SPOKES mechanics will be on hand at the Farmers' market in Newbury tomorrow (Sunday)

‘LOVE your bicycle', a pit stop to sort out punctures, sticky gears and brakes that don't work, is coming to Newbury Farmer's market on Sunday (Feb 6).

Trained West Berkshire SPOKES mechanics will be available to tend to bicycles whose roadworthiness is in doubt. The service is free of charge, but parts are not provided.

SPOKES chairman, Alan Lane, said, “Spokes is keen to help ensure that all bikes on local roads this year are properly roadworthy. We have invested in mechanics training courses for our members and will be pleased to check over any bike that arrives at the stall.”

“If we can we will give it some care there and then, or if too much work is needed will recommend how best to get the bike properly back on the road.”

“We look forward to seeing lots of people with lots of bikes!”

SPOKES mechanics will have a stall at the market between 9am and 1pm. There will also be a competition with prizes and rewards for the first few new members of West Berkshire SPOKES.
