Get involved in volunteering
The second Thatcham and District volunteer recruitment day is due to take place on Saturday, March 16 between 10am and 3pm at the Catholic Hall in the Bath Road.
All Thatcham and district residents are being invited to go along to meet with volunteer groups, all of whom are searching for interested people to help with and join in their activities.
There will be up to 25 organisations on show during the day.
Event organiser, Garry Poulson from the Volunteer Centre West Berkshire, said that they were delighted to be asked by Thatcham Town Council and Thatcham Vision to run it again.
He said: "Our first event last went really well.
"The Thatcham Volunteer Recruitment fair affords Thatcham people an opportunity to chat informally with key community volunteers about how their organisations work benefits their town and district in a variety of ways. "Community action groups ensure that Thatcham as a district thrives by enabling people to participate in their own community in some way, that active participation gives people a stake in their community.
"Other benefits to volunteers are new experiences, training and personal development all of which can be added to a CV.
"This is of particular benefit to people seeking new jobs or a career change. So whether its volunteering within social care or with girl guides or for the Old Blue Coat School there is something for all ages and interests to consider. The event is organised by Volunteer Centre West Berkshire a charity that provides information advice and guidance about volunteering in the district."
