Get ready for Hungerford’s Victorian Extravaganza
HUNGERFORD’S big night out is tonight (Friday).
The 31st Victorian Extravaganza, organised by the town’s chamber of commerce, kicks off at 5pm with a Christmas street fair of stalls, steam engines, festive food and drinks, big wheel and fairground rides and games for the little ones.
As always, entry is free.
There will also be Santa’s grotto, carriage rides with Dancer and Prancer and a nativity scene.
Judging for the best Victorian costume will be at 6pm and the categories are best couple, best adult, best family and best child.
Winners will be invited to join the parade and prizes will be donated by the Hungerford Legal and Financial Centre.
For some late-night Christmas shopping, Hungerford Arcade and Hungerford Bookshop will be open.
The Extravaganza Parade at 7.30pm will feature the Reading Scottish Pipe Band, Rock Choir, Razzamatazz Theatre Group, the Tin Soldier Juggler, Christmas Fairy on stilts, Community of Hungerford Theatre Group, Hungerford Lanterns and lots more.
