Gigaclear outlines plans to bring full fibre broadband to Woolton Hill and Highclere
Gigaclear has outlined its plans to bring full fibre broadband to Woolton Hill and Highclere.
The broadband provider hopes to begin work on the new network next month and this will involve the digging of narrow trenches near verges, pavements and roads to install the fibre cables.
Gigaclear hopes that this work will allow some North Hampshire residents to benefit from the increased broadband speeds this winter.
The new full fibre network should provide “ultrafast” download and upload speeds of up to 900mbps.
This will provide homes with a reliable broadband signal for wireless home connectivity, the ability to cope with multiple devices on the network at once and the ability to manage high bandwidth devices, such as video game consoles, with no buffering.
Gigaclear will send residents more information next month and it plans to hold a community meeting in November.
