Give a box a home

Twenty guide dog collection boxes need to be placed in busy locations such as shops, pubs, hairdressers and petrol stations.
Each year the Burghfield Common-based charity Guide Dogs raises more than £2,500 in West Berkshire alone towards helping people who are blind or partially-sighted to get out and about on their own terms.
Guide Dogs collection box volunteer Chris Rose said: “Placing our collection boxes in the local coffee shop, pub, shopping centre or garage only takes a few minutes, and the money raised will help us give freedom and independence to more people living with sight loss.”
“There are six people who are currently waiting for a guide dog in West Berkshire.
“Once qualified, it costs £5 a day to support each working guide dog partnership, and the guide dog service receives no government funding, so collection boxes are a fantastic way to support Guide Dogs.”
