Goldy Horn comes to Hungerford

Cobbs director Tom Newey joked: “Because we just weren’t busy enough….our own beer.”
At four per cent ABV the golden, hoppy brew is similar in style to a traditional IPA, with a mild bitterness leaving a light sweetness on the palate.
Mr Newey said: “Working closely with our friends at West Berkshire Brewery we’ve developed an exclusive ale and we really couldn’t be any happier with the final product.
“Goldy Horn is the perfect beer to enjoy chilled, with a big slab of farmhouse cheddar or simply after a tough day and we take great pride in the fact that all the ingredients used in the production were exclusively British.
“Our beer is brewed using traditional methods and in small batches to ensure absolute consistency and best possible quality.”
He said Cobbs was proud to be working so closely with West Berkshire Brewery, “a fantastic local independent company, who produce award winning ales of exceptional quality and character.”
The farm venture’s executive chairman is entrepreneur David Bruce, who is also a chairman of West Berkshire Brewery.
Goldy Horn is now available, having been launched with a tasting day at the farm shop on Saturday, June 28.
The beer has an individual bottle price of £2.75 but 12-bottle cases are available at a discounted price of £27.
