Golf day in memory of West Berkshire prodigy today (Friday)
The Adam Clayton Golf Foundation was set up in 2009 in memory of Shaw golfer Adam Clayton who died from a brain tumour in 2008, aged 23.
The charity was established a year later to support young golfers struggling to pay for equipment, lessons, club membership and competition fees.
Founder of the Adam Clayton Golf Foundation, Chris Clayton, said: “This is our fifth annual golf day and we are hoping to raise more money than ever before.
"The golf day is an opportunity to remember Adam and to raise money to support young golfers who are struggling with the financial burden of the game.
"The Foundation is our way of putting something back into the sport that Adam loved so much.”
The event, now its fifth year, will be held at the Donnington Grove and Country Club today and is scheduled to start at 9am.
Alongside the stableford format competition, there will be games for nearest to the pin and longest drive.
The event will also feature a charity auction with prizes including a three-day break at The Sheraton Algarve, a 2013 Masters flag signed by Justin Rose and an overnight stay and breakfast at the Park Lane Hilton London.
Silent bids can be made via the Foundation's Facebook page, Adam Clayton Golf, or by emailing paragonfs@live.co.uk
Entry to the competition is £45, of which £15 goes to the foundation.
