Golfing legend Sam Torrance visits Newbury to support Hungerford business

The winner of 43 professional titles, he was filming promotional videos at Newbury and Crookham Golf Course for Hungerford-based Northcroft Golf, which was formed in 1996, which sells products designed to help those with restricted mobility.
The equipment aims to support golfers with back, knee or hip related injuries by aiding them with teeing-up and picking up the ball.
Sam Torrance played in eight consecutive Ryder Cup competitions following his debut in 1981, holing the winning putter at the Belfry in 1985 to seal Europe’s first victory in 28 years.
He told the Newbury Weekly News: “Northcroft Golf have created a really thoughtful and exciting range of products and it is fantastic to see something on the market that really can prolong the age in which you can enjoy playing golf.
“Having suffered with the odd ache and pain in the past I know just how useful the range of products is.”
Northcroft Golf managing director, Kevin Bailey, said: “We are extremely proud to have our products endorsed by a legend of world golf such as Sam Torrance.
“His enthusiasm for our products and the benefit they will have on the wider golf society makes him the perfect ambassador for us.
“Our products really do help to make golf more accessible and playable to those with injuries and bending difficulties.
“We are really happy that we are able to extend the golfing experience for many players up and down the country.”
