Good Old Boys' say 'cheers'
THE ALE was flowing freely in Yattendon last Saturday as West Berkshire Brewery hosted the official launch of the new Good Old Boys’ members club.
Around 80 guests were invited to take part in brewery tours and beer-tasting sessions, and a barbecue ran throughout the day.
West Berkshire Brewery has scooped 30 national awards for its beer since being launched by Dave and Helen Maggs in 1995.
Head of Marketing at West Berkshire Brewery, Vicky Mills said: “It was our way of saying thank you to our loyal members and giving something back in return.
“Although we have been around for almost 20 years, there are new breweries opening and snapping at our heels, so we have to up our game and ensure we engage with our loyal customers.”
She added that a number of people have joined the club since the event took place.
According to the brewery’s industry annual report, in 2012 cask ale outperformed the total beer market by 6.8 per cent.
The first Good Old Boys’ Club members’ event will be held at the brewery on the 7th November.
Members benefit from discounts on beer purchases and have access to members-only merchandise.
