Grease is the word

GREASE is another Newbury premiere from Nomads where the ethos is to try and stage musicals not so frequently performed by theatre societies. Productions in recent years have included Footloose, Our House, Jekyll & Hyde and West Side Story.
Nomads’ Chairman Richard George said: “Grease became available on licence for a very limited time and it’s a show we just had to do while we had the chance. It is one of the best loved musicals of all time and the cast have been working really hard in rehearsals to bring a fantastic production of this show to Newbury.”
Nomad’s production features well-known songs from the movie including Summer Nights, We Go Together, Look at me I'm Sandra Dee, Hopelessly Devoted To You, You're The One That I Want and of course Greased Lightnin', all backed by a live rock 'n' roll band.
Director Jeanette Maskell said: “Grease what can I say? The cast have had a blast and have so much energy and enthusiasm; it's tiring just watching! Everyone knows the film, personally I think the stage show is far more engaging, and would encourage people to come along and make up their own minds.”
