Greenham body is that of local man




Deceased was former plumber who lived on narrowboat in Newbury

A MAN whose body was found in woods at Greenham has been named locally as David Durrant.

Mr Durrant, aged 52, had been living on a narrowboat in Newbury.

His body was discovered by a member of the public in woods near to Burys Bank Road and was removed around 10am on Wednesday, August 31.

Police have said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Mr Durrant, a plumber by trade, had a talent for art and sculpture.

Some of his work is on display at the the Two Saints hostel in Newbury, where he lived for a time after arriving in the area from Devizes.

An inquest into his death will be held at a later date.
