St Mary's Church's 118 carol singers join 17,000 others to smash record set by Disney
ST MARY's Church in Greenham won a small part in the record books when it took part in the world's biggest carol singing event.
The 118 carol singers at the church were enough to push the collective number taking part from 16,999 to 17,117, smashing the old record – set by Disney in 2009 – by more than 2,000 carollers.
The event was organised by Premier Christian Radio and linked singers and relied on venues in Scotland, Cornwall, Wales and even Geneva.
The attempt was part of the national Christmas Starts With Christ campaign, which aims to engage people with the true meaning of Christmas.
