Greenham House to be sold off

Grade II listed Newbury building put up for sale by West Berkshire Council

GREENHAM House, a Grade II listed building in Greenham Road which dates from about 1845 and has been a long-standing part of Newbury's heritage, has been put up for sale.

West Berkshire Council had added it to a list of assets deemed surplus to requirements, which it intended on disposing of by 2013.

The council said it believed tax payers would best be served by selling most of the items on the list on the open market, and has now announced details to sell off the building.

In recent years the house has been home to some of West Berkshire Council's Children's Services and prior to that it was used as a Family Centre by the charity NCH.
