Greenham man shouts at McDonald's customers after all night 'bender'

Court hears how man became abusive after mammoth drinking session

A GREENHAM man went on an all-night ‘bender’ before shouting abuse at people who were trying to enjoy their McDonald’s breakfast.

Newbury magistrates heard last Thursday how Ronnie Jury, of Pigeons Farm Road, had been out all night drinking before the offence at 7.30am at the Northbrook Street restaurant.

Ann Sawyer-Brandish, prosecuting, said that the 20-year-old was “abusive towards members of the public and restaurant staff” and was arrested by police after continuing his behaviour.

Mr Jury, representing himself, declined to comment when asked by magistrates whether he wanted to comment on his actions.

The court heard that by committing the offence on July 26 this year, Mr Jury was in breach of a 12-month conditional discharge issued in December 2014.

Mr Jury admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Magistrates took no action for the breach of his existing conditional discharge, but instead imposed another 12-month conditional discharge.

Mr Jury also had to pay costs of £150 and a statutory surcharge of £15, but no application for prosecution costs were made
