Group of Beaver Scouts from the 1st Woolton Hill Scout Group receive highest possible honour
A group of Beavers from the 1st Woolton Hill Scout Group received the highest award a Beaver Scout can possibly achieve this week.
Six young Scouts – Aria Bennett, seven, James Maestri, seven, Harry Tooze, seven, Oliver Jones, eight, Josh Larcombe, eight, and Dylan Morgan, seven – all received their Chief Scout Bronze Award in the East Woodhay Village Hall on Monday, March 27.
Unfortunately, Dylan was poorly and was unable to attend, but the rest of the children received their badges and certificates during a special ceremony in front of their parents.
To receive the award, a Beaver has to complete six challenges and obtain four different activity badges.
For his personal challenge, Harry travelled to Dartmoor and hiked up a “really steep hill”. He said that he was “really proud” to receive “the best badge in Beavers”.
James was also “really happy” to have attained the distinguished award.
During the ceremony, Josh and Oliver were also moved up to Cubs as they had both recently turned eight. Josh said he was “excited” to be moving on to the next stage of his Scouting journey.
After the Beavers received their awards, they joined up with the rest of their colony and celebrated by singing songs around the campfire and toasting marshmallows.
