Hampshire workshop starts the fun spinning

For youngsters aged from 11 to 17, the free ‘Summer Streetz’ activities, organised by Basingtoke and Deane Borough Council, include multi-sports, street dance, pizza making and (in Tadley on August 27) a cinema evening, at Tadley Community Centre.
The borough council’s website states that the programme returns this summer in 20 local areas, from July 30 to August 31, after local communities canvassed the opinions of young people in each area to ensure that the activities provided matched what they wished to do.
It said: “By providing these activities within their local community and free at the point of entry, it is hoped that 2012 will again see thousands of young people enjoying themselves in a safe environment.”
