Hampstead Norreys Railway Bridge work delayed
The works will entail the removal and replacement of 20m length of damaged brick parapet at the bridge
A PROGRAMME to carry out brickwork repairs to the parapet of Hampstead Norreys Railway Bridge has been delayed.
The works will entail the removal and replacement of 20m length of damaged brick parapet at the bridge, which carried the B4009 over the now disused Didcot to Southampton branch line that once stopped at Hermitage, Newbury and Hampstead Norris.
West Berkshire Council had intended to start the repairs, which are expected to take three weeks, on January 29 but the start date has now been postponed due to a conflict with other works being carried out in the village.
A 24 hour temporary three-way traffic light system will be in place when the work is carried out to ensure the safety of the workforce and travelling public.
