Hamstead Marshall road re-opens after burst water main





The main road through Hamstead Marshall was closed this morning (Mon), in both directions, due to a mains burst.
The road was re-opened at around 3.30pm today (Mon).
The mains burst in the Holtwood Road area, affected water supplies to 32 properties intermittently.
Thames Water has released the following statement:
"A six-inch water pipe has burst in Hamstead Marshall, and the damaged section will need to be replaced.
"We've delivered bottled water to the White Hart Inn pub and are waiting on a tanker, which will keep water in supply, to arrive shortly before starting the repair.
"We apologise for any disruption and are working hard to minimise any impact on our customers."
Thames Water were unable to provide information on how many customers were affected, on when supplies would be restored.
