COMMUNITY choir group Sing For Fun hosted their Big Summer Bash on Sunday, July 2, at Kingsclere’s Fieldgate Centre.

The event was a celebration of music, camaraderie and joy, bringing together more than 100 talented singers from five different choirs from Andover, Basingstoke, Goring, Newbury and Reading.

As members sang through an impressive repertoire, the air was filled with vibrant melodies, including a delightful mix of pop hits and popular tunes from the world of musical theatre.

The occasion marked a significant milestone for Sing For Fun as they united their choirs for the first time in a display of musical harmony.

The event encapsulated the essence of community spirit that Sing For Fun is famed for and provided a great opportunity for people to connect with fellow singers.

With food vans, including an ice cream truck and a bar, there was plenty to enjoy, including 80 invited audience members, who went along to support their loved ones.

Hannah Baron, the dedicated owner of Sing For Fun, organised the day, ensuring every moment was filled with “fun, energy and unforgettable experiences leaving participants eager for more”.

“It was a big leap and a huge change to our usual end-of term-antics,” Ms Baron said.

“We’ve never brought the five groups together like this and I was overwhelmed by how brilliantly it went.

“The day just proved to me how much Sing For Fun really is a welcoming and inclusive community, full of laughter and friendship..

“The members are brilliant and it was such a joy to hear our arrangements sung by over 100 singers.”

“All our groups warmly invite individuals of all singing abilities and backgrounds to join our vibrant community choirs,” said Ms Baron.

“We are a relaxed, informal group who strive to strike the perfect balance between having fun and producing top-quality singing.”

“With weekly sessions held in Andover, Basingstoke, Goring, Newbury, and Reading, we encourage all aspiring singers to find a convenient location to nurture their passion for music and experience the magic of singing together.”

Those interested in giving it a go can sign up for a free taster session in September by visiting www.singforfun.co.uk

In response to overwhelming demand, the Big Bash will become an annual tradition, promising even greater festivities in the years to come.
