Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust
Dogs Trust Newbury has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.
And every Sunday we have been shining a spotlight on one of them to try to help spread the word.
Nationwide, the charity currently has 765 dogs that are looking for a family to join.
You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.
Today we have the tiny Slinky to introduce you to.
He is a bouncy two-year-old Dachshund who was found as a stray.
“This little sausage loves his toys and could spend hours playing, especially if there's a squeaker,” said those looking after him at Dogs Trust.
Slinky can get a bit nervous around new people and certain situations, like trips to the vets, so will need plenty of reassurance and positive experiences, they added.
He could live with another dog – and would love some dog-walking friends – but couldn’t live with small furry animals.
Slinky is looking for a home that will be happy to continue his training and be happy to keep him company while he settles in to his new home.
Has he got a friend in you?
