THINKING ahead to the school break? The Corn Exchange, Learning Centre and The Base have activities on offer over half-term including some fantastic family shows.
In the lead up to the school break, parents and their little ones can be blown away by Top Secret: The Magic of Science (Saturday, February 3, 2pm) with the Corn Exchange auditorium transformed into a real life science lab for non-stop interactive experiments.
For the threes-plus, The Bubble Show (Sunday, February 11, 2pm) is a great way to start the half-term fun with a unique blend of magic, storytelling, science and most of all fun to wow audiences in this internationally award-winning bubble extravaganza. Giant bubbles, bubbles inside bubbles, smoke bubbles, square bubbles and even fire bubbles are used in this captivating display, presented by The Highland Joker.
Over at the Learning Centre, five- to 11-year-olds can Create and Make (Monday, February 12, to Friday, February 16, 10am to 4pm).
Activities include arts and crafts, drama and more, working with professional practitioners to explore the creative arts, develop new skills and make new friends.
Up at The Base, Greenham, Half Term Art Club (Monday, February 11, to Thursday, February 15, 10am to noon) is for children aged six to 11. These sessions allow young people to experiment with new media and techniques and put together new creative projects using their imagination during the school holidays.
There is also Drawing Portraits (Friday, February 16, 1pm to 3pm) for seven- to 13-year-olds, working alongside Base resident artist Ellie Kerr-Smiley, looking at how to draw and create realistic portraits while developing their technique.
