Have your say in Hungerford's future

Opportunity for residents and businesses to discuss Town Plan refresh

ARE you interested in the future development of Hungerford?

If so, you are invited to a special public meeting on Thursday, February 10, in the Corn Exchange.

The 2010+ Town Plan was originally published in December 2005 and it is now due to be updated.

The plan represents the views and wishes of residents and businesses.

It covers all aspects of town life including jobs, housing, education, transport, tourism, public order, health provision, tourism, culture and sport.

Town councillor Denise Gaines said: “The key actions in the current plan were agreed upon after the results of the residents' survey which went to every household in Hungerford. The response rate was over 36 per cent - which was apparently excellent for a questionaire response.

“The Town plan was called 2010+ and as it's now 2010 it was felt that it needed a refresh to ensure that the plan is still current and still reflects the wishes and view of the people of Hungerford.”

She added: “This refresh evening is all about getting residents along to hear whats been achieved to date and get their ideas for the future. It will be an opportunity for discussion on all of the areas currently covered in the plan and any that need further exploration.

“If residents are unable to come along on the 10th then there will be a questionnaire to every household so they will still have an opportunity to contribute to the refreshed plan.”

The meeting takes place between 7.30pm and 9pm.
