Have your say on interior of new flats

Thatcham residents are being urged to choose which colour scheme they prefer for flats at former Waring House site

PEOPLE are being asked to help choose the interior decoration of a new development in Thatcham.

Work is now well under way on the former Waring House site to build 51 flats for over-55s.

Due to be completed in spring 2012, people have the chance to pick from three proposed designs for the interiors – yellow and black with references to meadow plants, purple tulips or summer's evening.

The options are on display in Thatcham library, Bath Road, to give people an idea of how each design would look.

West Berkshire executive councillor for community care, Joe Mooney (Con, Birch Copse) said: “This new type of supported housing is specifically designed so that older residents can go on living there even if their needs change.

“We are very keen that it becomes part of the local community too and that is why we are asking local people for their views on how it should look and feel inside.”

The designs can also be viewed on line at www.westberks.gov.uk/interior
