Elstree head wins big at Tatler School Awards in London
The head of a village school is celebrating after winning an award.
Sid Inglis, headmaster at Elstree School in Upper Woolhampton, has been named Best Head of a Prep School at a recent awards ceremony in London.
On Monday, September 25, Mr Inglis and his wife Olivia attended the 2024 Tatler School Awards hosted at The Dorchester hotel in London.
Upon receiving his award, Mr Inglis, who has served as the school’s head for 10 years, said: “It is such an honour to receive this award.
“Thank you to Tori Cadogan and the Tatler team. We all know our schools thrive on the strength of our fantastic teams.
“I am so fortunate to have the unstinting support of Olivia who is integral to the success and happiness of Elstree.
“Thanks also to Simon Attwood, my senior deputy head, as well as the whole Elstree community; the senior team, all the staff, pupils, parents and governors.”
Ten pupils have achieved an array of scholarships and exhibitions in the last year, leading to senior schools including Pangbourne College and Downe House – attesting to Mr and Mrs Inglis’ dedication to seeing Elstree boys and girls recognised for their talent and effort.
The award comes as the school is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year.
The annual awards recognise the finest prep and public schools in the country.
