Headgirl at Curridge primary has charity chop
Fellow pupils astonished at shorn tresses
Headgirl at Curridge Primary School astonished fellow pupils last week, when she turned up with her long tresses shorn, after a charity hair chop.
After growing her hair for the past year, Anna Kieras, aged 11, decided to have her hair cut to benefit the children’s charity, Little Princess Trust.
The deed was done at the Hair and Beauty Barn on the A4, where owner, Rachel Behan, wielded the scissors last Thursday.
The trust provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Each wig costs the charity £350 to make and Miss Kieras wanted to help raise funds for the trust to make more wigs.
Anna’s mother Helen Kieras said her “kind, caring and full of energy daughter”, who is also a member of Newbury and District Swimming Club and Newbury and Thatcham Hockey Club, was “doing amazingly well with her sponsorship”, after raising £575 via her donation page at mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/annakieras.
