Hearing Dog puppies visit Waitrose, Newbury

The puppies, belonging to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, are part of a litter of nine identical puppies born on July 11.
Wendy Therry, who houses Milly, the puppies’ mother, had to mark the identical puppies with nail polish to tell them apart.
She said: "The staff at Waitrose are used to seeing me and Milly out and about, so I thought it would be nice to take some of the puppies to visit them.
"It was a really good socialising experience for the puppies as well as everybody wanted to hold them.”
All nine puppies are now with their first foster homes where they will learn basic obedience and be introduced to different people, environments and sounds before being sent to hearing-impaired owners at a year old.
This was Milly’s first litter, and she will have another two or three before retiring at seven years old, when Wendy plans to adopt her.
