Heatwave warning extended across South East
Warning in place until tomorrow [Thursday] morning
A heatwave alert issued for the whole of London and the south east yesterday [Tuesday] has been extended from a level 2; yellow warning, to a level 3; orange warning.
The warning for very high temperatures across the area is in effect from Wednesday at 9am until Thursday at 9am.
High daytime temperatures are predicted for Newbury and the surrounding area, with highs of 27 degrees forecast locally.
The Met Office is advising: “Stay out of the sun. Keep your home as cool as possible – shading windows and shutting them during the day may help.
“Open them when it is cooler at night. Keep drinking fluids. If there’s anybody you know, for example, an older person living on their own, who might be at special risk, make sure they know what to do.”
