Heavy downpours and strong winds cause disruption, yet weather warnings removed

However, all severe weather warnings have now been removed.
Eastbury (pictured, top) has been amongst the worst affected, with the flooding of the River Lambourn forcing the closure of the Newbury Road through the village.

One pump was sent to the village to help to alleviate the impact of floodwater, while residents pulled together in a bid to protect their properties and move possessions out of their homes.
Also today, army troops were sent from the Oxford Road base in Reading to assist West Berkshire Council and the emergency services deal with the flooding.
Around twenty troops and reserves helped the council to fill sandbags in Chieveley, while others assisted in preventing floodwater from entering the Pingewood substation near Burghfield which provides electricity for around 40,000 homes.
Reading Road was also closed at The Cunning Man pub causing severe disruption to some Reading Buses services.
Meanwhile, in Shaw, Long Lane and Shaw Cemetery (pictured, second) had been flooded, as had some residential areas including Wellington Close (pictured, third, credit Ben Wood)

This morning, one fire crew from Newbury was sent to assist in pumping water from a flooded stable yard in Upper Lambourn.
Crew manager for Green Watch, Neil Polding, said the crews were on scene from around 8.30am till noon, and that all horses had either already been moved or were in the process of being moved by the time they arrived.
In Theale, three properties are thought to have been flooded, and this afternoon groundwater was being pumped from the Swiftpak car park in Arrowhead Road.
The excess water has also caused issues with sewage flooding in Elizabeth Court, High Street, Theale.
A spokesman for Thames Water, Craig Rance, said he couldn't confirm details of the incident in Theale, but added: "We know many of our customers are having a difficult time dealing with flooding.
"We're under enormous strain too - with a network that's only supposed to take wastewater being inundated with floodwater, we're working extremely hard to manage sewer levels.
"Teams are working around the clock, our resources are stretched and we're on constant high alert, but we're doing out best in difficult circumstances."
In Boxford, resident Tony Stone and his family had surrounded his property with sandbags after heavy rainfall overnight and today doubled the amount of floodwater in his garden.

In Aldermaston, floodwater from the surrounding fields was beginning to seep onto the A340 as was also the case in parts of Wash Water and Ball Hill with rain last night and today falling onto already saturated ground.
And large puddles were beginning to form close to Tadley Swimming Pool this afternoon (pictured, fourth) as drains become overwhelmed with the heavy downpours of recent weeks.
The flooding has caused several footpath closures

across the district including in Aldermaston and Bagnor, while parts of Brimpton were also severely flooded.
A number of roads are also closed.

The district has been bracing itself against strong winds, with gusts of up to 46mph since 3pm according to the Met Office, causing a tree to come down in Northcroft car park, Newbury, narrowly avoiding cars parked in the vicinity (pictured, sixth, credit @MsStophe).
Also in Newbury, the Kennet and Avon Canal burst its banks close to the town centre today, causing some water to flood onto the pedestrian towpath.
It followed record water levels on the River Kennet at Newbury and Theale this morning.
In Newbury this afternoon it had maintained its level of 1.44m, however in Theale had decreased from 1.59m to 1.51m.
The River Pang at Pangbourne had increased from 0.94m this morning to 0.98m, the River Lambourn at Shaw from 0.56m to 0.57m and the River Thames at Goring from 5.17m to 5.22m.
The Met Office forecasts further spells of heavy rain until 9pm tonight, which will resume for 12-hours from 3am tomorrow (Sun).
